Acts 20:35 reads,
"In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how He Himself said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"
In the spirit of that scripture, EVERLASTING LIFE MINISTRIES holds a yearly ELM Christmas Gift Shoppe free 'shopping' experience for the neighborhood children.
After our downtown center is turned into a Christmas 'store', the children register their family members. They are then accompanied by a volunteer to help choose gifts for each family member. As the children review their choices, volutneers then wrap and tag each gift to present on Christmas Day. All the gifts are donated by Kurt Koehler, owner of Gifts & Things. We have about 300 children come to do their "Christmas shopping" for family on that special kid's only shopping day.
